Classic Tube Baby Method
This method is mostly applied to young patients in whom the number of ovums is high and sperm characteristics are good. Ovums and sperm are put together in special prepared containers for 16-18 hours and the sperm is fertilized by itself.
Microinjection method; in cases where sperm count and mobility is low, deformity is high, there is less number of ovums collected from the woman, the quality is low and the ovum membrane is thick; It is used in cases of unexplained infertility and in couples who previously experienced IVF failure. The collected ovums are extracted from the residues of the surrounding cells by the extraction process and the mature ones are selected.
Fertilization is done approximately 2-6 hours after the ovums are collected. The sperm are injected with a thin needle into the ovum with the help of a special device called micromanipulator under the microscope by the embryologist. Fertilization control is made after 16-18 hours in incubator.
In-Vitro Maturation Management
In-Vitro Maturation management is applied in order to eliminate the risks that may occur in people with too much ovum reserve. In this method, the ovums are collected before maturation and matured out. It should be very selective in its application, since it is not always possible to obtain a sufficient number of suitable ovums.
IVF Method By Stimulating Needles
In this IVF method, stimulation with subcutaneous and intramuscular injections is initiated. The favorable outcome of the procedure depends on the production of a large number of ovums in the ovaries. The arousal process lasts about 10 days. In the control of the ovaries in the control of the doctor, ultrasonography is performed and if necessary, the hormone level in the blood is measured and the dose is adjusted. During the follow-up of the ovums development, if sufficient numbers of ovums are matured, HCG is injected and the collection of ovums is programmed to the 36th hour after this last drug injection. During the collection of ovums, sedative drugs may be administered or anesthetized. After the ovums are collected, doctor control is performed and the selected ovums are placed back into the mother’s womb. Before the final stage of the embryo transfer, the mother drinks water and fills the bladder and a catheter loaded with embryos during the transfer is passed through the vagina and the cervix into the uterus. Embryos are left in the uterus. After this stage, the normal pregnancy process begins.
